Rooted in faith, made with purpose

As a first time mom to a beautiful and sweet baby, I am not going to lie, it was hard trying to learn how to give myself grace during the newborn stage. Most people call it “the trenches” due to the endless feeding cycles, sleep deprivation, and not knowing the sunrise from the sunset because you are so tired. It is in the still of a quiet moment that it just feels like God whispers to you as you feel yourself growing exhausted and weary until He says, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV

Raising a child, no matter what age or stage they are in is messy sometimes – dishes being piled up, laundry over flowing, house needs picked up, floors need to be vacuumed and mopped, and it feels like you can’t even remember the last time you ate a hot meal. But I want to remind you that the same God that knit your baby together in the womb, is the same God who will give you strength, grace, and is shaping you through every tired prayer.

As we all know, this too shall pass. With time being a thief, these long sleepless nights will soon fade into a memory. So take a deep breath, lean into His strength, and know this: you are right where God wants you – loving your baby, sacrificing out of pure love, and remember you are doing holy work. The world may not see it, but Heaven does.

Let’s remember:

  • “You don’t have to be a perfect mom; just a present one who leans on a perfect God.”
  • “Motherhood is not a pause on your calling; it is a holy part of it.”
  • “God doesn’t call the qualified – He equips the called, and momma, you are called.”
  • “The same hands that hold your baby were crafted by the God who holds you both.”

Another beautifully written post, Taylor. I love how you tie faith and motherhood together so naturally. It’s such an honest reminder that even in the chaos and exhaustion, God is present in every little moment.
